Cataract
When the lens of the eye loses its transparency, vision becomes
blocked. This condition is known as a cataract. Symptoms include
gradual loss of eyesight, blurred vision, and diplomia.
If
treated at an early stage, Ayurvedic remedies are very effective.
Treatment is aimed at alleviating the aggravated body energies
as well as nourishing and strengthening the nerves and tissues
of the eye.
Stye
A
stye is a small, inflamed tumor on the eyelid. It is often caused
due to ill health, conjunctivitis and infection of the eyelid.
It may affect the skin of the eyebrows or the eyelids, more commonly
the lower lid.
Ayurvedic
treatment aims at cleansing and nourishing eye baths and tonics.
For a permanent cure to prevent recurrence, it is necessary to
boost the immune system with strengthening herbs and therapies.
Myopia
Myopia
or shortsightedness refers to difficulty in seeing objects at
a distance. Excessive use of the eyes, studying or reading in
dim light, excessive use of computers, lack of eye exercises and
improper diet and nutrition are some causes of myopia. Heredity
is also a factor.
Ayurvedic
treatment includes balancing the body energies in addition to
therapies that clear eye blockages, nourish and strengthen the
optical nerves and tissues to enhance vision.
Conjunctivitis
The
sclera or white of eye is covered by transparent membrane known
as the conjunctiva, which becomes inflamed easily if exposed to
irritation or infection. This inflammation is called conjunctivitis.
Red, itchy, burning eyes with watering inflammation is the main
feature, along with sticky discharge from eyes that seals the
lids together overnight.
Ayurvedic
treatment consists of internal cleansing herbs to alleviate the
aggravated body energies as well as the application of herbal
pastes to the affected area.
